VANCOUVER IS AWESOME: Photos: Unique B.C. ‘Boulder House’ Hits the Market for $3 Million

I'm honoured to share that my listing at 3909 Park Pacific Terrace in North Saanich was recently featured in Vancouver Is Awesome.

A residence outside of Victoria, B.C., known as the "Boulder House," has a unique setting.

In all, 20 truckloads of rock were brought in to create a specific terrain for the home. Built in 2000 by architect Chris Genik and for his parents, the unusual design caught the eye of the New York Times and Dwell magazine.

"A house in British Columbia by Daly, Genik Architects appears to be moulded by the force of nature," reads a caption of a photo of the house.

Boulder House is now on the market, selling for $3 million.

Located just north of Victoria in Saanich on Vancouver Island at 8909 Park Pacific Tr., the three-bedroom, three-bathroom house has a few eye-catching features, aside from the boulders outside.

In the centre of the main floor there's also a unique fireplace, designed to look like a crystal. It's double-sided, too, for those in the living and dining spaces to enjoy. The fireplace also doubles as a structural feature that acts as a heat sink, to help cool the space in the summer and keep it warm in the winter.

Inside, the home has exposed beams and reclaimed fir floors. The house also has views of the nearby Salish Sea.

Boulder House also features an office, a rooftop deck, and a structure that allows for additions, like a whole new storey.
